Treatments Prices are a guide and they are what most people pay. We confirm the cost with you before anything starts, and if a tooth turns out to need more than we expected we stop and tell you first.
Preventive Preventive
A look at your teeth, gums and the soft tissue in your mouth, and a written note of what we find.
Takes 20 minutes
You feel A mirror and a small probe. Nothing sharp goes into the tooth and there is no injection.
After Nothing. You can eat straight away.
From £65 Preventive
Removing the hardened plaque a toothbrush cannot shift, then polishing what is left.
Takes 30 minutes
You feel Scraping and vibration, and cold water. No injection. Sensitive spots can sting for a second.
After Eat normally straight away. Gums may be tender for a day and can bleed a little when you brush.
From £75 Preventive
A varnish painted onto the teeth to slow down early decay.
Takes 5 minutes, usually added to another appointment
You feel A small brush and a sticky coating. It tastes strongly of the flavor you pick.
After Nothing to eat or drink for 30 minutes, and nothing hard for the rest of the day.
From £25 Restorative Restorative
Cleaning out decay and rebuilding the tooth with a material that matches its color.
Takes 30 to 50 minutes
You feel An injection first, then pressure and vibration. The tooth is numb for two to three hours afterward.
After Do not chew on that side until the numbness has gone. The tooth can be sensitive to cold for a week or two.
Between £140–£240 Restorative
Removing the nerve from inside a tooth that has become infected, then sealing it.
Takes 60 to 90 minutes, sometimes over two visits
You feel An injection first. After that it is pressure and a lot of small movements. Most people find it long rather than sore.
After The tooth is often tender to bite on for a few days. It will usually need a crown afterward to stop it splitting.
Between £350–£700 Restorative
A cover made for one tooth, fitted over what is left of it.
Takes Two appointments of about an hour, two weeks apart
You feel An injection, then shaping, then a mould or a scan. You leave with a temporary crown that feels slightly bulky.
After Avoid anything sticky while the temporary is on. The gum around the new crown can be tender for a few days.

Custom trays and a gel you wear at home for two weeks.
Takes Two appointments of 20 minutes, plus two weeks at home
You feel Nothing at the appointments. During the two weeks some people get short bursts of cold sensitivity, which settles when you stop.
After Avoid dark drinks for the first two days after each night. Sensitivity fades within a week of finishing.

Adding filling material to the edge of a tooth to rebuild a chip or close a small gap.
Takes 45 minutes per tooth
You feel Usually no injection, because nothing is drilled away. Cold air on the tooth, then a light.
After Eat normally. Bonding stains over time in the way a natural tooth does, so it can need polishing at a check-up.

Taking out an amalgam filling and rebuilding the tooth in a tooth-colored material.
Takes 45 to 60 minutes
You feel An injection, then pressure and vibration, and more water than a normal filling.
After The tooth is often sensitive to cold for a few weeks afterward, more than with a first filling.

Taking out a tooth that has to be reached first, usually by lifting the gum.
Takes 45 to 60 minutes
You feel An injection, then pressure and some pushing. You hear more than you feel. Stitches at the end, which you do not feel going in.
After Swelling that peaks on the second day, and soreness for around a week. Stitches dissolve or are removed after ten days.

You feel A look, a probe and an x-ray. No injection.

You feel A mirror, a count out loud, and a ride in the chair. Nothing sharp.

Sealing the grooves on the biting surface of a new back tooth so food cannot pack into them.
Takes 15 minutes for two teeth
You feel The tooth is cleaned and dried, then painted and set with a blue light. No injection, nothing sharp.
After Eat normally. We check the sealants at every visit and top them up if they wear.

A short appointment whose only job is to make the room ordinary.

You feel Sitting on your lap or in the chair, going up and down, and a look with a mirror if they will.
