This appointment is a decision rather than a treatment. We take an x-ray, look at how the tooth is sitting and what it is doing to the one in front, and give you a straight answer about whether it needs to go.
If it does, we tell you whether it is a job for this practice or for an oral surgeon, and roughly what each would cost. If it does not, we say that too, and you have paid for an examination rather than an operation.
Not as a rule. One that has come through cleanly and is causing no problems is usually left alone. What we look for is repeated infection or damage to the tooth in front.
The straightforward upper ones, yes. Lower ones lying sideways or close to the nerve we refer, and we tell you what that costs before you go.
